Obama Watched Benghazi Attack From Situation Room -, Oct. 28, 2012

Lt. Col. Tony Schafer told Fox News that sources were telling him that the President was watching the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya in real-time. Schafer told Fox that “only the President” could have ordered backup for the Americans who were under siege by terrorists so the President was most certainly informed of the situation as it was unfolding. “I hate to say this,” Schafer said, “according to my sources, yes, [the President] was one of those in the White House situation room in real-time watching this. And the question becomes, ‘What did the President do or not do in the moments he saw this unveiling?’ He — only he — could issue a directive to Secretary of Defense Panetta to do something.”

Women hold balance of power in presidential race

Read article in Sunday AJC

By Katie Leslie - The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Mitt Romney and Barack Obama have 10 million good reasons to talk about binders and birth control: There are 10 million more women than men in the American electorate. Women also figure disproportionately in a group both campaigns are in full-fledged pursuit of — the ever-shrinking ranks of undecided voters.

Women at the low end of the economic scale are especially likely to be undecided, said Susan Carroll, a senior scholar at the Center for American Women and Politics at Rutgers University. Tagged with the moniker “waitress moms,” they are simply too consumed with daily economic survival to focus much on politics, she said.  Read more

Obama Campaign Sinks to New Low
With Ad Comparing Voting to First Sexual Encounter

Young Women Exploited, Insulted by Campaign's Reckless Lack of Judgment

ALEXANDRIA, Va. – Rae Lynne Chornenky, president of the National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW), issued the following statement regarding the Obama campaign's new advertisement designed to appeal to young, single women.

“Yesterday, the Obama campaign plummeted to a new low when it released an advertisement in which actress and filmmaker Lena Dunham compares voting for the first time to losing one's virginity. The ad is clearly targeted to young, single women, particularly college-aged women, and implies that Barack Obama is the guy these young women should want to have their first 'voting' encounter with, because he 'cares about and understands women.' The ad is laced with sexual implications and double entendres, including this: 'My first time voting was amazing. It was this line in the sand. Before I was a girl. Now I was a woman.'  Read more

Georgia Charter School Amendment

Ballot Question on November 6 Ballot

Georgia’s Charter School Debate

By: Sen. Steve Gooch (R-Dahlonega)

This upcoming general election, you will notice two proposed Constitutional Amendments on the ballot. If voters approve by a simple majority, these items will become part of our state Constitution.

Let’s turn our attention to Amendment 1. This amendment would set a precedent for education reform by reinstating the state’s authority to authorize charter schools through the Georgia Charter School Commission. In addition, it would allow Georgia the same flexibility that 34 other states already have for authorizing state-run charter programs.

In 2011, the Georgia Supreme Court ruled that the Georgia Charter School Commission, the entity charged with authorizing state-run charter schools, was unconstitutional. However, there is a growing consensus across the nation that a single-purpose board or commission is the best practice for charter school authorization.

The charter commission will be no different from the State Board of Education, which is an appointed body that currently has the authority to set high school graduation requirements, set curriculum standards and allocate funds appropriated by the General Assembly.  Read entire press release

Follow the money for anti-charter amendment campaign, too
October 26, 2012, by Kyle Wingfield - AJC

There’s a logical explanation for the bitter opposition to the charter-schools amendment. Just ask Edward Lindsey, the Buckhead Republican who serves as House majority whip.

“This isn’t about ideology,” Lindsey says. “It’s about turf. It’s about those folks who have a vested interest, no matter how mediocre the present may be, in not changing.”

The turf in question is the power to approve charter schools — and thus how some public education funds are spent. Amendment One would empower the state to create charter schools in two instances. The first is for statewide charters; think virtual schools that teach online courses.

The other is when a local school board denies a charter application. The state could then conduct its own review and decide whether to approve and fund the school.

Who considers those powers an invasion of their own turf? Follow the money. Read more

Yes to charter schools
by  Erick Erickson on   - Erickson of , Cnn Contributor and Atlanta radio host

On Nov. 6, voters will be asked whether the state should be able to approve charter schools. Yes the state should. You should vote yes.

Charter school opponents make two rather bold claims. The first is that this should be a local issue. The second is that public schools are already hurting financially.

According to the opponents, we should trust local governments to decide whether or not a charter school should be started. Follow the logic here with me. It is quite rich. Charter school opponents believe the very same school systems that are failing our children should be the sole authority on creating their own competition. In other words, Superintendent Romain Dallemand should be the point person on whether or not a competitor to his Macon Miracle should crop up. - Read much more

In just a few days, National Geographic Channel will begin broadcasting "Seal Team Six: The Raid on Osama Bin Laden," even after reporting by the New York Times and other media outlets disclosed that the timing and editing of the film by Obama mega-donor and Hollywood liberal Harvey Weinstein were orchestrated to use the heroic work of U.S. Special Operations Forces to promote President Obama's re-election.  OPSEC's not going take this sitting down.

National Geographic's Channel own President even admitted that, "that some people were suspicious of the film's intentions."  -

The Final Stretch: Prepping for the last Presidential debate on Monday, Oct. 22.
2012 Presidential Election  By Nate, on October 19th, 201
The days and hours are ticking down to Election Day in November but this Monday (10/22/2012) will bring us the final Presidential Debate between President Obama and Governor Romney. The topic will be foreign policy and you can better believe every other word out of Governor Romney's mouth will be "Benghazi" and/or "Libya." Perhaps mix in a little "Fast and Furious" and you have a recipe for the expected topics. On the other hand, President Obama will probably mention the death of Osama Bin Laden and his particular part in that death, as he well should. Of course, the Middle East, I expect, will dominate a lot of the discussion along with China and the fiscal situation in the European Union.

The legacy we leave behind for our children, grandchildren and this great nation is crucial. As I approach my 94th birthday, I realize this election could be my last. I believe it is vitally important that we cast our ballots for candidates who base their decisions on biblical principles and support the nation of Israel. I urge you to vote for those who protect the sanctity of life and support the biblical definition of marriage between a man and a woman. Vote for biblical values this November 6, and pray with me that America will remain one nation under God.

Messasge from Dick Morris:
This election is about one thing: Barack Obama's record. Or should I say, his disastrous record — one that is leading our country to economic ruin.

Like many of you, I have been dismayed by the TV ads our side has been airing in key swing states.

So, I recently teamed up with Mike Reagan who heads Super PAC for America, to get powerful new ads that hit Obama hard on his terrible record. I have devised the first ad and I wanted to share it with you first. Are you ready for presidential debate number 2 at Hofstra University on Long Island, NY?

Presidential Debate October 16: How to Watch Live

President Barack Obama and Governor Mitt Romney square off on October 16 for their second Presidential debate. The October 16 Presidential debate will take place at Hofstra University on Long Island. The debate begins at 9pm ET/6pm PT, and is scheduled for 90 minutes. Hopefully Obama will look like he actually wants to be there, and Romney can avoid threatening any more Muppets.

The moderator will be CNN Chief Political Correspondent Candy Crowley, who will be tasked with keeping the candidates on track: the debate will be in the form of a town hall meeting, with the candidates fielding questions from the audience. Here's how to follow the October 16 presidential debate live:

Reasons to vote YES on the Charter School Amendment
Read two proposed amendments on ballot

As a retired Georgia high school teacher, I feel very strongly about supporting amendment #1.  Our students in many of our failing public schools very much need an alternative.  Unfortunately, I saw our schools go steadily down hill in the 30 years that I was involved in Florida and then Georgia. Slowly but surely liberal ideology took over most of our public schools and discipline went out the window along with academic success. My observation was that teacher unions and teacher tenure greatly contributed to this educational downfall.  Many history and government courses  were changed and watered down so they are totally different today.  If you have not read Dr. Thomas Sowell's book, "Inside American Education" published way back in 1992, you should do so.

Ayn Rand - Biography
Ayn Rand was born Alissa Rosenbaum in 1905 in St. Petersburg, Russia. (Died: March 6, 1982, New York City) Rand was raised in an upper-middle-class, European-oriented family, in the midst of the mysticism and nationalism of Russia. Having taught herself to read, Rand, at the age of 8, became captivated by the heroism in a French-language serial adventure entitled The Mysterious Valley. At the age of 9, Rand decided to become a writer, inspired especially by Victor Hugo's novels. Hugo's writing helped arm her against the fatalistic view of life that dominated Russia, a country she later described as "an accidental cesspool of civilization." . . .
Ayn Rand returned to Hollywood in late 1943 to write the screenplay for The Fountainhead, but war-time restrictions delayed production until 1948. Working part-time as a screenwriter for producer Hal Wallis, Rand wrote such scripts as Love Letters and You Came Along and began Atlas Shrugged in 1946. In 1951, Rand moved permanently back to New York City and devoted herself full-time to the completion of Atlas Shrugged, which was published in 1957. Despite extremely negative reviews, Atlas Shrugged quickly became a best-seller. A1991 a joint survey by he Library of Congress and The Book of the Month Club placed Atlas Shrugged second only to the Bible as the most influential book among American readers.

Chicago's Susan Crown, Influential Obama '08 Supporter, Campaigns for Romney '12

Chicago's Susan Crown, Influential Obama '08 Supporter, Campaigns for Romney '12 by Jasmine Velasco3 Oct 2012, 5:14 AM PDT150post a comment

Businesswoman and philanthropist Susan Crown, a former Obama supporter and a member of one of Chicago’s most influential families, told an audience of over 300 women and men, “In the midst of the Obama administration, I became profoundly disappointed, disillusioned and actually a little angry.”

Democrats, Republicans and self-described independents recently came together to hear how one of President Obama’s own prominent supporters is now using her considerable talent and energy to get Gov. Mitt Romney elected the next President of the United States. They gathered at a modest complimentary luncheon in the ballroom of a hotel in Naperville, Illinois sponsored by the DuPage Business Council. The event was a “Women in Leadership” forum, where Crown gave a brief introduction, then took questions from the audience. Outside the ballroom, four self-employed women from a neighboring suburb sold red-white-blue elephant earrings, US flag pins, GOP/elephant jewelry, and t-shirts with glittery “Romney” lettering.

“I am pro-choice, pro-gay marriage, and don’t think the government belongs in a lot of those issues,” Crown said.

So how could a woman with this sort of background on “social issues”, who gave money to Obama’s 2008 campaign, and who worked with him on the Annenberg Challenge board support Gov. Romney, who is pro-life and pro-traditional marriage?

Crown spent nearly one hour answering questions from the audience to fully explain her conversion.

Her reasons and responses were wide-ranging, thoughtful, brutally honest and humorous.

Obamacare Summed up in one sentence by  Dr. Barbara Bellar

It's by Dr. Barbara Bellar, a motor-scooter-riding animal lover, Army veteran and Republican attorney who's taking on a massive challenge of the Chicago political machine for a state Senate seat to combat the fiscal insanity in Barack Obama's adopted home state, which isn't an easy job, as you might imagine, so she made this hilarious homemade video that captures the colossal stupidity of ObamaCare in one (very long) sentence, like this one.

Dr. Bellar says she could use some help from people who agree with her and support the idea of political diversity in a place that doesn't have much but gave us President Obama anyway. Here's Dr. Bellar's website.

Quote of the century:

Some people have the vocabulary to sum up things in a way you can understand them. This quote came from the Czech Republic . Someone over there has it figured out. We have a lot of work to do.

"The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America . Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their president."
