Rep. Ann Wagner on The Dana Show

Ann Wagner, a former US ambassador and current congresswoman from Missouri, was interviewed about what
the protocol would be for a “stand down” order in the event of a consulate being under attack, and she answered what many have suspected already: that’s an order that would come from Obama himself

This is one of the reasons that the Obama administration has essentially refused to provide details about where Obama was

Vacation Time AGAIN -- Life at the Top
shared by John Eidson

How long will the American tax payers keep silent concerning the first family spending more
of our money on extravagant vacations -- more than any other president in our history?  At  a time when cities are going bankrupt and so many employees are being placed on furloughs Americans need to speak up LOUDLY!

▪ Obama Vineyard vacation at $7.6m private resort; more than 75 rooms booked for staff
By PAUL BEDARD | JULY 29, 2013 AT 12:40 PM -- Washington Examiner

The Massachusetts island of Martha's Vineyard, the exclusive playground for presidents and their families, is about to get its annual summer infusion of cash and attention as President Obama and his family prepare to arrive August 10 for an eight-day vacation.

Local reports indicate that the first family will likely be staying at a $7.6 million resort home on southern edge of the island in the town of Chilmark where homes feature water access to Chilmark Pond, tennis courts and swimming pools.

Staying at the home of Chicago corporate finance manager David Schulte is a break from past Obama vacations because the $21 million home they've rented, Blue Heron Farm, isn't available. Schulte's summer home sits on nine and a half acres, has ocean views and a basketball court. It was renovated 10 years ago by Rick Sundberg/Olson Kundig Architects, which is bragging about the Obama visit on the company's website.

While the president typically keeps to himself and carries with him only a handful of staffers to Martha's Vineyard, security will be tight. As in the past, the Wesley Hotel in Oak Bluffs will house security and communications officials. The owner told the Vineyard Gazette that the Secret Service has booked 70 rooms and another five have been reserved for the Transportation Security Agency. Rates at the hotel run from $225-$345. Also, telephone and communications lines are being installed on the island for the president's use.

It's unclear why the president is returning home on the 18th, though the school where his daughters attend, Sidwell Friends, said that is when practice for winter sports begins. Both Malia and Sasha play basketball just like their dad. Read more

Obama’s Phony Scandals Kill
Posted on July 27, 2013 by Conservative Byte

Barack Obama

People are still being killed from Fast and Furious guns. The 4 Americans that needlessly died in Benghazi. The truth has been killed as the IRS and DOJ scandals continue to go unanswered. Do liberals really think they can get away with destroying our freedoms like this? The sad thing is so far they have.
Check it out:

Conservative leaders allege the media are trying to ignore the once high-profile scandals overshadowing the Obama administration, as President Obama and his aides aggressively push the claim that these controversies are “phony.”

The “phony scandal” line was the unofficial talking point of the week in Washington. White House Press Secretary Jay Carney made it his fallback retort from the podium — when asked about the president’s new wave of speeches on the economy, Carney explained Obama was trying to refocus Washington away from “fake” controversies. ▪ States seek to nullify Obama efforts !!

By TAL KOPAN | 7/27/13 3:14 PM EDT - Politico

Infuriated by what they see as the long arm of Washington reaching into their business, states are increasingly telling the feds: Keep out!

Bills that would negate a variety of federal laws have popped up this year in the vast majority of states - with the amount of anti-federal legislation sharply on the rise during the Obama administration, according to experts.

The “nullification” trend in recent years has largely focused on three areas: gun control; health care; and national standards for driver’s licenses. It’s touched off fierce fights within the states, and between the states and the feds, as well as raising questions and court battles about whether any of it is legal.

In at least 37 states legislation has been introduced that in some way guts federal gun regulations, according to the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence. The bills were signed into law this spring in two states, Kansas and Alaska, and in two more lawmakers hope to override a governor’s veto. Twenty states since 2010 have passed laws that either opt out of or challenge mandatory parts of Obamacare, the National Conference of State Legislatures says. And half the states have OK’d measures aimed knocking back the Real ID Act of 2005, which dictates Washington’s requirements for issuing driver’s licenses. Read more

CVS Caremark will help promote Obamacare
   By KYLE CHENEY | 7/26/13 5:04 AM EDT - Politico.com

CVS Caremark is joining the effort to encourage Americans to sign up for Obamacare insurance programs, company executives announced Thursday. CVS officials told POLITICO that they’re planning to use pharmacies at their 7,400 North American stores as a gateway for the uninsured to learn about new coverage options — especially subsidized insurance coverage available to low-income people on state-based insurance exchanges. ▪ Florida Prosecutor Indicted For Falsifying Arrest Warrant against George Zimmerman
  Posted on
July 24, 2013 by Conservative Byte

Sounds reasonable.
Check it out:

Florida State’s Attorney Angela Corey has been indicted by a citizens’ grand jury, convening in Ocala, Florida, over the alleged falsification of the arrest warrant and complaint that lead to George Zimmerman being charged with the second degree murder of African-American teenager Trayvon Martin in Sanford, Florida.

The indictment of Corey, which was handed down last week (see www.citizensgrandjury.com), charges Corey with intentionally withholding photographic evidence of the injuries to George Zimmerman’s head in the warrant she allegedly rushed to issue under oath, in an effort to boost her reelection prospects. At the outset of this case, black activists such as Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, who whipped up wrath against Zimmerman, demanded that he be charged with murder, after local police had thus far declined to arrest him pending investigation.  Read more

I know of no organization more reputable than the Heritage Foundation.  Elite members of their organization have studied the topic of what Amnesty to millions of undocumented people in this country will do to our economy!  The unlawful immigrants will create a $6.3 trillion fiscal deficit.  The typical unlawful immigrant is 34 years old and has a 10th grade education.  After amnesty, he will receive government benefits for 50 years.  The average unlawful immigrant would receive $592,000 more government benefits over the course of his remaining lifetime.  Please read more as to WHY our economy cannot sustain this right now.  We still have people from other countries who have been waiting over 5 and 6 years to come here legally!  We have also not yet defunded ObamaCare, which is nearly 1/5 of our economy……and IT cannot be sustained!

▪ Georgia decides against offering 'Common Core' standardized test

By Wayne Washington - AJC

Georgia leaders announced today that the state will not offer a new and expensive standardized test tied to the controversial set of national standards called Common Core.

In rejecting the test, Gov. Nathan Deal and Superintendent John Barge cited its cost, which could have been as high as $27 million — slightly more than the state’s entire K-12 testing budget. Georgia will offer assessments developed by education officials in this state, who will continue working with their counterparts in the region toward the goal of offering a regional test. . .

Georgia’s decision to pull out from the 22-state consortium developing the test is another sign of the growing unease across the country with the test and with Common Core, which some have criticized as a national takeover of public education.

▪ Ga. GOP leaders vote to withdraw from common core

MyFoxAtlanta.com  Posted: Jun 23, 2013 2:58 PM EDT

ATLANTA (AP) - Leaders of Georgia's Republican Party have voted to press state officials to withdraw from a national program that creates a basic set of educational standards. Party leaders voted unanimously Saturday to ask that the state withdraw from Common Core - an initiative aimed at creating basic reading, math and language arts requirements. The initiative has been adopted by 45 states and the District of Columbia.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports Georgia Republicans want to withdraw from the program because they feel that state officials should maintain control over Georgia's educational standards.

The federal government was not involved in creating Common Core, but has encouraged states to adopt the standards under its "Race to the Top" grant competition. Adoption of Common Core standards has also met opposition from local school boards.

▪ Remember When Obama Boasted He Wasn't Going to Let Detroit Go Bankrupt? ...
  Well, Guess What? ...

FoxNews.com – 7/19/13
Detroit bankruptcy filing puts Obama in awkward spot -- BY BRIAN HUGHES, The Washington Examiner

When Detroit on Thursday became the largest U.S. city to file for bankruptcy, it punctured a major narrative that was key to President Obama’s re-election: that his auto bailout would help resuscitate the Motor City’s battered economy and inject life into an area unable to shake hard times.

Facing $18.5 billion in long-term debt, Detroit is now turning to the federal courts for help, hardly matching the rosy portrait painted by the president in recent months.

On the campaign trail, particularly in the Midwestern states dependent on the auto sector, Obama trumpeted his cash infusion to major American car companies as part of his populist pitch to blue-collar voters.

“I wasn’t going to let Detroit go bankrupt. Or Toledo go bankrupt. Or Lordstown go bankrupt. I bet on American workers,” Obama said in the final sprint to November’s election.  Read more

Have you seen this? What a moving documentary which has a great deal to digest.  My husband and I just finished watching and are still mesmerized.

Behold A Pale Horse: America's Last Chance stars country music legend Charlie Daniels as narrator and Mark Collins as George Washington. The film crystallizes the loss of American sovereignty and personal liberty while viewing events with a Biblical perspective. Interwoven with nearly 20 expert speakers are historical re-creations such as Washington crossing the Delaware and the Alamo.

The film includes new music by Charlie Daniels. Infused throughout is a call to courage and hope, with an answer to the challenges presented, and contains commentary from some of the biggest names in the patriot movement. Michael Shaw, President of Freedom Advocates is featured in the section on Agenda 21.

How a Miami School Crime Cover-Up Policy Led to Trayvon Martin’s Death
By Robert Stacy McCain on 7.15.13  - American Spectator

The February 2012 shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin might never have happened if school officials in Miami-Dade County had not instituted an unofficial policy of treating crimes as school disciplinary infractions.  Revelations that emerged from an internal affairs investigation explain why Martin was not arrested when caught
at school with stolen jewelry in October 2011 or with marijuana in February 2012. Instead, the teenager was suspended from school, the last time just days before he was shot dead by George Zimmerman.

Trayvon Martin was not from Sanford, the town north of Orlando where he was shot in 2012 and where a jury acquitted Zimmerman of murder charges Saturday. Martin was from Miami Gardens, more than 200 miles away, and had come to Sanford to stay with his father’s girlfriend Brandy Green at her home in the townhouse community where Zimmerman was in charge of the neighborhood watch. Trayvon was staying with Green after
he had been suspended for the second time in six months from Krop High School in Miami-Dade County, where both his father, Tracy Martin, and mother, Sybrina Fulton, lived.

ObamaCare is pushing physicians into becoming hospital employees. The results aren't encouraging. This has already hit us hard when Gwinnett Medical Center decided last December to go under the umbrella of the Gwinnett Medical Center. I understand that the Cardiovascular Group of Gwinnett has done the same thing. The fees skyrocketed immediately so much so that we moved my husband's chemo treatments to the Longstreet Cancer Center in Gainesville. Longstreet has not YET gone under the hospital system there.

REPLACE Obamacare with HR 2300:
The Empowering Patients First Act of 2013

The recently announced delay of the Obamacare employer mandate is further evidence that ObamaCare is a disaster!  Right now, the employer mandate is set to go into effect in 2015, while the individual mandate will still go into effect in 2014 as originally scheduled.

As we have said all along, Obamacare needs to be repealed and despite what the Democrats want us to believe, alternative proposals HAVE already been made.  The most significant one at the moment was recently introduced in the House of Representatives by U.S. Rep. Tom Price (R-Georgia), a doctor who is the lead sponsor of HR 2300. He calls it the Empowering Patients First Act of 2013.

While you probably haven’t even heard of this bill until now, it is vastly superior to the train wreck that we are facing now.  The Empowering Patients Act (HR2300) would:

•  Extend tax deductions for health insurance to those who buy as individuals, thus eliminating the perverse incentive that favored employer-purchased insurance

• Give patients true portability by making them the owners of their insurance – not their employers

• It gives doctors the real power to make treatment decisions, not insurance companies or the government.

• Reform medical liability laws and thus saves money by reducing the practice of defensive medicine.

If ever it was crucial that we not let them get away with this, it’s now! The mandate delay is a huge opportunity to create a movement to replace ObamaCare. The public has never supported ObamaCare but now it’s easier than ever to show them just what a disaster it is.

Please contact your Member of Congress and ask them to co-sponsor HR2300.  It is a STRONG REPLACEMENT for Obamacare!

When doctors sell out, hospitals cash in
By Carrie Teegardin - The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Everything was the same about Mike Rosenberg’s routine visit to Atlanta Cancer Care in February – everything, that is, but the bill.

Rosenberg went to the same office and saw the same staff to get the same blood work and the same medication he gets every month.

But the cost difference was remarkable: Rosenberg’s out-of-pocket charge increased from $20 to $212. What his insurer had to pay exploded from $2,735 to $5,661.

This has to be a mistake, Rosenberg thought, but there was no mistake. He learned instead that the higher charges resulted from a carefully planned business move. In January, Northside Hospital took over two of Georgia’s largest oncology groups – Atlanta Cancer Care and Georgia Cancer Specialists.

Because it is a hospital, Northside can bill at significantly higher rates for the same services at the same offices. Northside and the doctors who executed the deal say the change is positive for patients because it will enable the clinics to offer a host of new services. Plus, they say, it was a necessary step for survival in a transforming health care marketplace.

Rosenberg isn’t convinced. “How does Northside Hospital have the audacity to say that charging me 10 times as much as my oncologist and charging my insurance company over $20,000 more annually for the same chemotherapy without any service improvement is better for cancer patients?” he said.

In today’s health care marketplace, the hospital is simply riding the wave.

“This is not something that is specific to cancer or oncology and it’s not something that is specific to Northside per se, and it’s not specific to Atlanta,” said Rich Novack, mid-South region president for Cigna, a large insurance company. “It’s a national phenomenon.”

President Obama is “Deviously Brilliant” - No Problems until "after the
   By Onan Coca

The Obama administration has become expert at not dealing with problems until “after the election.” Well, they’ve done it again. The administration announced on Tuesday that they would be delaying one of the most important elements of their healthcare law until 2015 – after the 2014 election. The administration plans to put off the employer penalty aspect of the Obamacare scheme because they’ve become aware that a lot of businesses are having a very difficult time getting into compliance with the cumbersome rules.

However, the aspect of the law that compels the individual mandate will stay in effect. So for those of you paying attention – if your employer decides not to insure you until 2015, because there is no penalty until then, you better buy your own insurance or you could face fines/jail time.

What? Your employer isn’t giving you a huge raise? It doesn’t matter, you will still need to find a way to pay for that healthcare that has suddenly (and unexpectedly) skyrocketed in price.

It also means that the true budgetary impact of Obamacare will have been grossly under calculated because much of the income the government was counting on will not be added to the coffers for another year.  In fact, the numbers could realistically end up being much worse than Republicans had been worrying about during the battle to keep this from being passed. What the Democrats and the Obama administration have done is a classic procrastinator move – I know because I have been one (just ask my dad).  Read more
